How CVS Turned a Broken Stock Into a Breakout

CVS has turned from disaster to one of the market's strongest charts. Two years ago, Aetna's soaring patient costs forced three guidance cuts, then a full pullback, and a CEO exit. The stock sank to the high $50s. Since then, CVS exited money-losing insurance plans, controlled costs, and started raising guidance again, more than doubling off the lows.

Looking at the chart, the daily and weekly EMAs (8/21/34) are stacked and rising, with a momentum squeeze firing. That's a strong setup, backed by a tight base near highs.

Action to take: The stock is primed for a breakout with earnings coming August 5 (pre-market), a favorable 2027 Medicare rate decision, Zepbound launching October 1, and sector rotation into healthcare.
