Healthcare Was Nobody's Trade for Three Years. Merck Just Ended That.
Healthcare was the worst sector for three years. Now it's THE trade.
Merck (MRK) ran from $77 to $127 as money rotated out of expensive tech into a beaten-down sector, right as drug-price fears turned out overblown. Fresh fuel: FDA approval of Lipfendra (first once-daily oral PCSK9 inhibitor), a string of Keytruda approvals, and 20 planned drug launches by 2030.
I love this chart. Stacked EMAs on two timeframes, a squeeze that hasn’t fired yet, an 11-month uptrend, a base underneath it, and a sector that’s finally getting money after three years of nobody caring.
Action to take: Watch for the squeeze to fire, with earnings landing August 4.
